    Olivia Jihyun Choi is a first-year of DMA student who is majoring in Orchestral Conducting.
  • Samantha Clarke

    Graduate Teaching Assistant, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Samantha Clarke, conductor and flutist, is a Long Island native of East Rockaway, New York. Ms. Clarke is thrilled to be pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in conducting at George Mason University, working as Doctoral Assistant Conductor to the Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony, and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the School of Music. Ms. Clarke is studying conducting with Professor Mark Camphouse and flute with Professor Julianna Nickel. Ms.

    Marcus Daniel is from India and began learning the piano there at the age of seven. His father, who was a pianist and choir director was his first teacher. He was classically trained and was also playing in a rock band when he discovered jazz
  • Gregory Freeman

    Graduate Teaching Assistant, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Gregory Freeman is an active trombonist and educator in the Washington, D.C. area who also doubles on euphonium. A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Gregory grew up immersed in the vibrant music scene in metropolitan Washington and studied trombone with Scott Shelsta of Pershing’s Own U.S. Army Band. Gregory received his Bachelor of Music Education from George Mason University where he studied trombone with Dr. Paul Schultz, and conducting with Anthony Maiello.

    Rita Gigliotti is currently pursuing her PhD in Music Education atGeorge Mason University and most recently earned a Graduate Artist Diploma in Music for Well-Being in May, 2022.

    Elliott Godinez (b. 1995) is a first-generation American who advocates for equal accessibility in music. An inner-city Chicago native, his musical expressions have been described as creative, emotionally charged, and thought provoking.

    Yiran He, a native of Xi’an, China, currently is a doctoral student at George Mason University working towards a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Piano Performance, studying with Dr. Linda Apple Monson.

    Tyler Mire is a trumpeter and award-winning composer/arranger who has had the pleasure of performing with The Mavericks, Sam Moore, The Temptations, Frankie Valli, Aretha Franklin, Tierra Cali, Idina Menzel, Mike Ferris, Anderson East, Wayne Bergeron, Lyle Mays, John Clayton, Conrad Herwig, Terrell Stafford, Andy Timmons, Chattanooga Symphony and a slew of other notable music makers.
