Alumna Sophie Heeden, 2018

Sophie Heeden is currently the Concert Operations Coordinator for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She graduated from Mason with a BA in Music (Viola) and a Minor in Arts Management in December 2018. She received her Masters in Music in Viola Performance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and graduated in 2021.

    2005, BM Music Education

    Jessica graduated from Mason in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, playing French horn in multiple ensembles.
  • Ocie Banks

    2016, BM Music Education

    Ocie is the Vocal & General Music teacher and chorus director at Rosaryville Elementary School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland where he is building a music program and assisting his colleagues to incorporate Music and the Arts into the daily curriculum.
  • Samantha Clarke

    Dr. Samantha Clarke, conductor and flutist, is a Long Island native of East Rockaway, New York. She has a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in conducting fron George Mason University. 
  • Andrew Dougherty

    2015, BM Performance

    In May 2017, Andrew graduated with an MM in Music Performance from the University of Maryland where he studied with David Fedderly, and in 2015 he completed a BM in Music Performance at George Mason University where he studied with Andrew Hitz.

    Mark Evans is a recent graduate (2022) in BA Music with a concentration in string pedagogy. He is currently teaching across the Northern Virginia and Washington D.C area with various Academies and Non-profit organizations.

    Sophie Heeden is currently the Concert Operations Coordinator for the Boston Symphony Orchestra where she works with the BSO, Boston Pops, and with their operations at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA.
  • Hannah (Whitlock) Keefe

    Violin Performance, 2019

    Hannah Keefe enjoys teaching individual and group violin lessons as well as freelance performing. Her favorite memory of her time at Mason is the spirit of camaraderie formed in the strings studio.
