Dorothee Schubel is a Metadata & Cataloging Librarian at Fenwick Library, responsible for cataloging music resources in physical and digital format.

As an editor for the Arnold Schönberg Complete Edition, Berlin, she has authored two volumes of chamber music (with the string sextet “Verklärte Nacht”, the wind quintet and other works), and co-authored a volume of choral music. Further research was spent on Schönberg and other composers of the (second) Viennese school. Ms. Schubel prepared a catalog of compositions by Eduard Steuermann, gave talks at conferences, wrote book chapters and dictionary articles, translations, and many program-book articles. Upcoming publication: the correspondence between Eduard Steuermann and Schönberg, Berg, Webern, Kolisch – transcriptions, edition, and commentary; volume 5 of the series “Briefwechsel der Wiener Schule.”

Dorothee Schubel holds an MS degree in Library and Information Science (focusing on cataloging and music librarianship) from Catholic University, an MA from Freie Universität Berlin/Germany (majors: Musicology and German Literature), and a BA in Music Education from the Konservatorium Osnabrück/Germany (major: cello)
