Biography
Prof. Van Slyke is a nationally recognized vocal coach and performing artist with successful studios in the Washington DC area and New York City. He has taught applied voice-musical theater at Ithaca College, The Catholic University of America, and Shenandoah University. Prof. Van Slyke is in high demand as a teacher, clinician, and guest speaker and has been endorsed by the Johns Hopkins University Department of Otolaryngology and other renowned otolaryngologists.
Professional student credits include Broadway (Miss Saigon, Bandstand, Wicked, Kinky Boots, Mama Mia, School of Rock, Finding Neverland, La Cage, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, Rent, Evita, Hairspray, The Radio City Rockettes), National Tours (Book of Mormon, Mama Mia, The King and I, Sister Act, Thoroughly Modern Milly, Cinderella, Legally Blonde, Saturday night Fever, Pippin), and Regional Theatre (Signature Theatre, Arena Stage, NextStop Theatre, Creative Cauldron, Ford’s Theatre, Toby’s, Olney Theatre, Goodspeed, Westchester Broadway Theatre, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, The Muny, Papermill Playhouse, MTWichita). Other student honors and credits include performances with the Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Off Broadway, and with award winning/critically acclaimed concert and recording artists.
