Undergraduate Placement Tests
The Dewberry Family School of Music offers placement tests in Theory, Sight Singing, Ear Training and Keyboard Skills. Theory tests are required for all students. Sight singing, ear training, and keyboard tests are required for incoming transfer students, but optional for incoming freshmen music majors. Should you plan to take these tests, prior notice to the School of Music is not necessary; you may show up and take the exams. These exams are only available the semester you enter Mason and cannot be scheduled for a later time.
