Alongside a superb faculty, the Potomac Arts Academy of George Mason University has a small staff of well-rounded professionals dedicated to the growth of the Academy both qualitatively and quantitatively.
Libby Curtis
As Director of the Potomac Arts Academy, Libby has been instrumental in building Potomac’s enrollment from 350 to just under 1000 registrants. Her background as a Soprano includes 20 years on faculty at Radford University and Virginia Tech where she taught studio voice and was Assistant Director of Opera Workshop along with an active performance schedule including: Festival Miami, Northwestern University, and Interlochen.
John Kilkenny
John serves as Assistant Director of the Potomac Arts Academy, as well as a percussionist and music faculty member at GMU. John has appeared with such prestigious ensembles as the National Symphony, Washington National Opera, and Washington Ballet. John received his bachelors degree from the Juilliard School and his masters from Temple University.
Candy Neukam
As one of the Administrative Assistants for Potomac, Candy has become an essential asset to the organization. She is the contact person for the Instruments in the Attic program, and she also serves as secretary for the Friends of Music, a volunteer organization dedicated to scholarship funding and community awareness in support of GMU’s Music Department.
Matt Geske
Administrative Assistant for Potomac, Matt earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Minnesota State University, where he also served as the Assistant to the Director of the Performing Arts Series. He received dance training from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and has performed in community theater, toured as a choreographer/dancer, worked at an art gallery, and taught dance.
