Performance Opportunities:

Percussion Ensemble

The George Mason University Percussion Ensemble performs two major concerts each year on campus, as well as several outreach performances in the community. 
Members of the ensemble are comprised of music majors, music minor and talented members of the university community.

The Primary focus of the group is to perform significant literature from the percussion ensemble canon, as well as world premieres, experimental repertoire, world music and collaborations with other instrumentals. 

Addition opportunities for percussion students exist in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Ensemble (M3E) Jazz Ensembles, Drumline “the Mean Green” and pep band “The Green Machine.”

During the 2008-2009 Season, the GMU Percussion Ensemble Performed for the Students of JEB Stuart High School and was a featured performance group at the 2009 Maryland/Delaware Day of Percussion. 

Auditions for the percussion ensemble take place at the beginning of each semester.
