    Apply and Audition

The first step to becoming a Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music student is to complete an application for admission to George Mason University, then complete the application for an audition to the Dewberry School of Music.

Admission to George Mason University does not guarantee your acceptance into our programs; you must successfully complete an audition into the Dewberry School of Music. All College of Visual and Performing Arts students must be admitted to both the University and the Dewberry School of Music.

    Get Ready to Shine

Dewberry School of Music audition days will start with an information session for prospective students and parents about the Dewberry School of Music, followed by a meeting with the students and our student ambassadors. You will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the Dewberry School of Music. Candidates are then able to begin warming up for their audition to demonstrate their ability on their instrument or voice. Other tests may be given depending on which level candidates have chosen, including sight-reading and matching pitch.
