Judith Lapple, Woodwind Area Coordinator & Flute
Status: full-time, PMI professor
Teaching Positions: Flutopia Flute Choir, Private Music Instruction in Flute

Judith Lapple is a native of Rochester, NY where she attended the Eastman School of Music.  Ms. Lapple, is the former principal flutist for the Air Force Band and is currently Professor of Flute at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.    Judith has soloed extensively throughout the USA and Europe and now gives clinics for many colleges.   Mrs. Lapple was nominated for 'Who's Who Among America's College Teachers 2000 and 2006.  In December of 2003, Mrs. Lapple was honored, "For untiring work in preparing the young musicians of America", by the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras. In addition, Mrs.Lapple is the founder of the Summer Woodwind camp which began in July 1994.   Judith also maintains a very large studio of private woodwind students.  Her students have won many national competitions including, Bands of America, National Wind Ensemble, Music Teachers National Association, and American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras.  Her former students have been accepted to Duke University, Yale University, Harvard University, Princeton University, Eastman School of Music, Peabody Conservatory, Cincinnati Conservatory, Northwestern University, University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon.    In addition, Judith has appeared on the cover of Flute Talk national magazine. She has written several articles on Performance Anxiety. Judith now resides in northern Virginia with her husband and four daughters.
